Makers Sessies
De Nieuwe Vorst en Makershuis Tilburg nodigen deze zomer nieuwe makers uit om eindelijk weer voor publiek te presenteren. Wij, en zij ook, kunnen niet wachten! En hopelijk jullie ook niet.
Een zomer in De Nieuwe Vorst is natuurlijk niet compleet zonder nieuwe makers. Geniet vier avonden van uitprobeersels, proeves, onaffe zaken, openbare repetities en try-outs op het gebied van theater dans en wat dies meer zij…
Het programma is nog volop in de maak dus hou de website in de gaten.

Jade van den Hout
A dance to touch the heart with Alison, Chilton and Jade
A dance to touch the heart is een onderdeel van het overkoepelende project Cracking the Shell of Dance, een doorlopend onderzoek naar de oorsprong van de motivatie om te dansen waar Jade als startende maker door diverse projecten vorm aan geeft. Alison, Chilton en Jade delen samen een drive om dans en de lichamelijke expressie zo puur en krachtig mogelijk naar mensen te brengen en in mensen wakker te maken. Als team onderzoeken zij wat het betekent om samen een dansruimte te delen en te creëren voor anderen. Dit proces leidt naar de interactieve dansavond/performance A dance to touch the heart; een reis en fascinatie voor dans waarin verschillende dansverhalen en ontmoetingen worden gedeeld en waar het publiek wordt uitgenodigd om mee te doen, te kijken en te ervaren.
Tijdens deze Makers Sessie wordt er een klein fragment gedeeld van de performance, een sneak peek in een nieuwe setting.
Zwermers
Zwermen is: het portretteren van mensen in al hun meervoudigheid. Wie zijn ze, wie willen ze zijn en wie moeten ze soms zijn? De kledingkast speelt daarbij een cruciale rol. Wie hangt er allemaal om de kledinghangers? Deze vraag hebben we inmiddels aan talloze mensen, zowel in binnen- als buitenland, gesteld. Nu is het tijd om onze ontdekkingen thuis te delen. Tijdens de Makers Sessies presenteren we een bonte verzameling mensentypes die we op onze reis zijn tegengekomen. Zwermers is een Tilburgs performance-gezelschap van eigengereide makers dat performances maakt rond kleding, gender en identiteit en spelen op festivals en theaters in binnen- en buitenland.
Anna Verkouteren Jansen
Howdy y'all! Voor de Makers Sessie maakt Anna Verkouteren Jansen een voorproefje van haar nieuwe audiovoorstelling Junebug. Hoe dat eruit gaat zien, weet ze zelf ook nog niet. Ze heeft al wel een ingrediëntenlijst:
- Mokergaye Escapisme-Western over rouw, eenzaamheid & zingeving.

- Hillbilly-accent

- Felgroene Pickuptruck met bliksemschichten op de zijkant

Giddyup, Space Cowboys!
Skypunch Collective
Skypunch Collective is een multidisciplinair project van Celine Werkhoven en Anna Zurkirchen. Zij streven ernaar het menselijk lichaam in te zetten om vervreemdende, poëtische en realiteitsoverstijgende voorstellingen te creëren. FUTOUR is een interactieve dansvoorstelling over reflecties tussen de menselijke entiteit en zijn omgeving, het kunstmatige versus het natuurlijke, en het futuristische versus het gepasseerde. SONNET 3, een videoinstallatie te zien in de Rode Salon, is ontwikkeld als onderdeel van de serie 'Natuursonnetten', een initiatief van Rob Moonen en Anton Dautzenberg. Gebruikmakend van het medium video onderzoekt Skypunch Collective de evolutie van het lichaam in het landschap en verkent de thema's verval, de ingewikkelde relatie tussen mens en natuur, en het delicate evenwicht tussen het organische en het kunstmatige.
Alesya Dobysh
Als dansers en vrienden besloten Alesya Dobysh en Marina Pravkina tot een langdurige samenwerking voor hun voortdurende choreografisch onderzoek. Bij het vormgeven van hun materiaal laten ze zich inspireren door de abstractie en deconstructie van voetwerkpatronen uit House Dance en UK Jazz Fusion. Om hun onderlinge afhankelijkheid te verkennen, stellen de performers regels op en spelen obscure spelletjes, waarbij ze nieuwe manieren vinden om elkaars fysiek en de beperkingen daarvan aan te vullen.

Jij bepaalt dus zelf na afloop wat je wilt en kunt betalen. Van elk bedrag, hoe klein ook, worden wij blij en het helpt ons werk van jonge makers te kunnen blijven presenteren.

Jade van den Hout - A dance to touch the heart
A dance to touch the heart is part of the project Cracking the Shell of Dance, an ongoing investigation into the origins of the motivation to dance, which Jade, as an emerging creator, shapes through various projects.
Alison, Chilton, and Jade share a drive to bring dance and physical expression to people in the most pure and powerful way and to awaken it within them. As a team, they explore what it means to share and create a dance space together for others. This process leads to the interactive dance evening/performance A dance to touch the heart; a journey and fascination for dance in which various dance stories and encounters are shared, and where the audience is invited to participate, watch, and experience.
During this Makers Session, a small fragment of the performance will be shared, offering a sneak peek in a new setting.
Zwermers
Zwermers is a Tilburg-based performance company of independent makers that creates performances around clothing, gender, and identity, performing at festivals and theaters both at home and abroad. "Zwermen" is about portraying people in all their multiplicity. Who are they, who do they want to be, and who do they sometimes have to be? The wardrobe plays a crucial role in this. Which people are hanging on the clothing hangers? We have asked this question to countless people, both domestically and internationally. Now it’s time to share our discoveries at home. During the Makers Sessions, we present a colorful collection of human types we have encountered on our journey.
Anna Verkouteren Jansen
Howdy y'all! For the Makers Session, Anna Verkouteren Jansen is creating a preview of her new audio performance "Junebug." How it will turn out, she doesn't quite know yet. However, she does have a list of ingredients:
- A Mokergay Escapist Western about grief, loneliness, and finding meaning.
- An armada of smoke machines
- LED lighting - sauce
- A banjo
- Hillbilly accent
- Lesbian line dance
- Bright green pickup truck with lightning bolts on the sides
- Ghosts, aliens, and burritos

Skypunch Collective
Skypunch Collective is a multidisciplinary project between Celine Werkhoven and Anna Zurkirchen, who strive to use the human body to create alienating, poetic and reality-transcending performances. FUTOUR is a site-specific, interactive dance performance, focusing on the reflections between the human entity and its environment, the artificial versus the natural and the futuristic versus the ancient. SONNET 3, a video installation shown in the Rode Salon, was developed as part of a series called of 'Natuursonnetten', an initiative by Rob Moonen and Anton Dautzenberg. Through the medium of film, Skypunch Collective portrays the body evolving within a landscape, reflecting the cyclic nature of birth, life, death, and decay.
Alesya Dobysh
As dancers and friends, Alesya Dobysh and Marina Pravkina decided on a long-term collaboration for their ongoing choreographic research. In shaping their material, they draw inspiration from the abstraction and deconstruction of footwork patterns from House Dance and UK Jazz Fusion. To explore their interdependence, performers construct rules and play obscure games, where they find new ways to complement each other’s physicality and its limitations.
